Disintegrate

In a box
In a room
Far away
I find a tangle
A mess of my past
Ah, I say
Found you at last
A thing of value
I need to explore
I pull at the tangles
The knots tighten some more
Delicate chains
Bend under my strain
No beginning no end
Charms and clasps bend
I get one section
a little bit loose
When the whole knot
becomes a noose
I can see what it is
Junk jewelry that is his
I toss it all away
So that on another day
I won’t run across again
These memories in the den
